Mechanism of action
The main active ingredients in the drug are mepregenol acetate and ethinyl estradiol. Thus, the development of follicles in the ovaries, ovulation, and the secretion of estrogens are inhibited in females. In males, sperm development and the secretion of sex hormones are slowed down. The contraceptive effect is caused by the complex action of meprenol acetate and ethinyl estradiol due to changes in the biological properties of the vaginal environment, an increase in the viscosity of the mucus of the cervix, and a change in the state of the endometrium, which prevents the implantation of a fertilized ovum. The combined action of ethinyl estradiol and meprenol acetate in males and females causes a calming effect, correcting undesirable behavior during sexual arousal. The presence of two active substances that enhance each other’s effect allowed to minimize the concentration of hormones in the drug, which makes its use effective and safe at the same time.
Composition

- Water-soluble mepregenol acetate - 0.1 mg
